Kia ora e te Whānau,
We are delighted to welcome John Parsons back to St Peter’s College on Wednesday, 28 February. John is a highly experienced and highly regarded Cybersafety expert, who works tirelessly to help people keep themselves and their families safe.
During the day John will meet with our rangatahi (young people) to discuss the safe and appropriate use of technology and social media. Each session will be tailored to the age and stage of the ākonga (students).
We would like to invite you, the Whānau, to meet with John at 6:30pm in our school Chapel on Wednesday evening. Instances of sextortion, shaming, and harassment through platforms such as Tik Tok, as well as over sharing of personal information continue to be major concerns across the motu for rangatahi and their families. John has worked with those most affected by these issues and is able to share relevant and practical advice on what whānau can do to avoid them, or work their way through situations should they arise.
We look forward to hosting John for the day and hope to see you at the Whānau session at 6:30pm on Wednesday night.
Ngā mihi nui,
Bridget Ryan
Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning.
