Kia ora e te whānau. We marked the beginning of Lent with a reflective Ash Wednesday liturgy, and as I have noticed many times since arriving here, the way our students conduct themselves during special occasions is tremendous. I would also make extra mention of the students who led us in the liturgy: they did a fantastic job.

As we move through the season of Lent, may it be a time for all of our community to grow closer to Christ. Lent also presents us with a good reason (or maybe an excuse) to try to kick a habit that is not helpful, or even better, to develop a good one. I hope we all take advantage of this opportunity.

Thank you to all those parents and community members who supported our Work Day. It is a practical expression of our Catholic faith by raising funds for those in need and supporting the various charities that do such good work for others. Your generosity means that we can continue to support these charities.

Well done to all those students who have made a positive start to the year. It is crucial that all students now settle into their studies and make the most of the learning opportunities presented to them this year.

Charity fulfils the Law
