Over the weekend of the 1st - 4th September, seventeen Year 9 and 10 trampers practised their skills on "Crosshill Farm." Our thanks to Grant and Bernie Weller for making their property available to us.
On the 1st and 2nd of September a group of seven Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students participated in an overnight tramp. This journey was held at “Crosshill Farm,” named for the two streams that cross the hills situated on the farm. Each day there was a focus of a certain skill with day one focusing mainly on compass bearings and topography while following a map and checkpoints, and day two focusing on the various forms of flora and fauna that could be found around the farm while tramping. Overall, this tramp was 14 kilometres in and out and was a wonderful experience for those who were privileged to participate and learn about their own backyard and how to navigate through it all. Thank you to Mr Ryan and Mrs Thompson for coming along with us.
