Kia ora e te whānau

A studious atmosphere fills the school as our Year 12 and 13 students have settled into their external examinations. So far, everything is progressing smoothly, with no issues encountered, and our students are leaving their exams feeling mostly happy and confident. We now move towards a time of transition as always happens at the end of each school year.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Mrs Carolyn Hunter, our well-regarded Head of Mathematics, has decided to resign after nearly 30 years of dedicated service to our school community. Throughout her tenure, Carolyn has been an inspiring leader, a mentor to many, and a steadfast advocate for academic excellence rooted in our Catholic values. Her passion for teaching and commitment to our mission have left an incredible legacy on generations of students and staff alike. We offer our deepest gratitude to Carolyn for her friendship, kindness and for her remarkable contributions and we pray for God’s blessings on the next chapter of her journey.

The major community event I would like to highlight that is only weeks away, is the end of year prizegiving at the Town and Country Club on Thursday the 12th of December at 7pm. Look out also for information coming out soon for the Year 13 Leavers Dinner coming at the Croydon Lodge on Tuesday the 10th of December at 6pm.

To those leaving the school, I am confident that during your time here you have been equipped with the knowledge and skills to ensure that you are empowered to pursue your own personal excellence and are prepared to challenge and shape your future. You are young people of Mercy and Charity who act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with our God and we all wish you the very best for your future.

We would also like to welcome our new students for 2025, who will be coming for their Transition Day next Thursday. We can't wait to meet you all again and show you around your new college for next year.
