It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks here at SPC as we squeeze in as many activities as possible before the end of the year!

Mia and Zavier represented the school with pride at the Southland Schools Tennis Champs, and Mia went on to compete at the Otago/Southland Champs—what an achievement! Meanwhile, the Year 9 & 10 Sports Day at the MLT was a fantastic event, bringing us together with Maruawai, Northern Southland College, and Menzies for some friendly competition. Plans are already underway for next year’s event, with exciting additions like curling, Turbo Touch, and potentially Futsal.

The Eastern Zone Junior Golf Champs was another highlight, and we were thrilled to see two of our teams qualify for the Southland Champs.

One of the standout events of the year has to be the Junior Adventure Race at Oreti Sands. With 400 kids on course, SPC proudly entered nine teams who tackled trekking, biking, kayaking, and having to work as a team and communicate to complete each task. The weather played its part, and the students impressed everyone with their teamwork and determination. A huge shout-out to everyone who participated—you were amazing!
