Hopefield Hemp Farm Field Trip

Posted Thursday August 29, 2024

On Wednesday, August 14th, the Year 13 Agribusiness class took a trip to Blair and Jody Drysdale’s farm, Hopefield Hemp, in Balfour. Currently the class are investigating the implications of strategic capital expenditure decisions on a business and how using different financing options impact their economic goals in the future. This field trip allowed the class to talk one on one with Blair and Jodie about the risks and financing decisions they made for their business and what their future economic goals are. The group were able to ask questions and try some of their very own Hopefield hemp oil, along with looking at some of the machinery and equipment used in the production process. Overall, the class benefited greatly from the knowledge and experience the Drysdale's have, which will help the class in preparation for their upcoming internal assessment.
