On Friday 25th, 19 students
between Year 9 and Year 12 went to Dolamore Park for a Duke of Edinburgh
training day, accompanied by Mrs Thompson and Mr Ryan. The day involved
presentations from a range of invited speakers and some hands-on sessions. Our
thanks to the following presenters: Lois Bishop from the Haumuri / Croydon predator
free group, St Peter’s mum and Hato Hone / St John instructor Sheree Vetters,
Lindsay Eunson from Land Search and Rescue, and Annabel Newnam from the Hokonui
Tramping Club. A big ‘thank you’ also to EJ at Dolamore Park and the Gore
Council for making the classroom space available to us.
