Next week St Peter’s College will celebrate MathsWeek – an initiative by the New Zealand Association of Mathematics Teachers to promote mathematics in schools.
Here at St Peter’s, we will have a number of activities for the students to participate in; some will be classroom activities, some whanau class challenges while the rest will be individual participation.
The ever popular “Guess the number of jellybeans in the jar” is back – this will be located at the Office, for students to enter.
Lunchtime Maths games will be available during next week, in C1. Students are welcome to come with their lunch and try some of the games on offer.
There will be a whanau challenge for the whanau classes to compete in, on Wednesday. Students not involved in this can ‘design a Maths postcard’ and submit for prizes.
NZAMT have a website full of fun activities. Students will get to explore some of these during Maths times, but they can also access them at any time of the day.
