The course was set amongst the native bush and open grassland with a lake in the middle. St Peter’s was represented by 9 students, running in four sections. Well done to all who competed.
First up we had Courtney White and Charlotte McVicar competing in the 3000m, Year 9 Girls race. Courtney coming in 5th and Charlotte in 15th.
Next to run was our Year 9 Boys, Thomas Johnson, Oliver Gray and Lachlan Gray. Thomas crossing the finish line in 8th, Lachlan in 17th and Oliver in 19th.
Millie McFadzien, Mikaela McRae and Sara Aynsley lined up on the start line for the Junior Girls (Under 16) 3000m. Millie smashed it, coming 1st in a time of 10:53minutes which was the fastest time overall for the day. This was also a new Southland record. Mikaela was close behind in 3rd with Sara also finishing strong in 12th.
Ben Hargest raced in the Junior Boys (Under 16) which was 4000m. Ben finished in 8th place.
