The Eastern Basketball U16 team attended the Apples Tournament held from Friday, November 22nd to Sunday, November 25th. Competing against six teams, the boys secured a well-deserved 2nd place overall, winning four out of their six games.
Day One:
The team kicked off the tournament playing Wakatipu High School and won 58-28.
Day Two:
The team played two games. In the first game, they played Queenstown. At halftime, they were leading with an amazing score of 54-2, and the final score was a 106-13 win.
The second game of the day turned out to be the hardest game of the tournament against Doon Squad. It was an excellent game played by the Eastern boys, but unfortunately, they lost 76-60.
Day Three:
With the third and final day came two more games. First, they played ABA, a Wanaka team, and the Eastern boys came out on top with a win of 74-56.
The final game of the tournament was a good game, and the boys ended on a high note with the final score of 67-35. The Eastern U16 team had a very successful tournament, securing 2nd place overall.
