Tēnā koutou e te Whānau,
The academic year is moving along swiftly.
Our senior ākonga (students) have approximately thirty-seven in-classroom school days left this year. These days do not include days when events such as Photo Day, Blues Assembly and the Eisteddfod will run, but are actual in-classroom teaching and learning days. They have approximately twenty-six days before the very important Derived Grade Examinations so should be making the very best use of their time at school.
Our younger ākonga will have settled into their new option subjects over the last three weeks. They will also have made progress in a range of ways since our last conferences in May.
It is with these points in mind that I would like to invite you to come in and meet with the relevant kaiako (teachers) next week to discuss your ākonga’s progress.
Whānau of all ākonga from Years 7 – 13 are invited to come in to meet with specialist kaiako. For Years 7 and 8 that means teachers of Science, Food Technology, PE and so on. For Years 9 – 13, that means the five or six kaiako working with your student.
Please book interviews with your ākonga’s kaiako on the School Interviews site www.schoolinterviews.co.nz using this code hrntp
Please remember that school will close at lunch time on that day, ie 1pm. Students who need to stay to catch busses or have no care at home are welcome to stay at school and will be supervised in the library.
Looking forward to seeing you next week,
Bridget Ryan
Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning
